Write.as
write.as ↗A minimalist blogging service from Musing Studio, the team behind the open-source WriteFreely.
For writers leaving Medium or Substack who want a quiet, distraction-free blog on their own domain.
Why it’s listed
It's ad-free and says 'We don't collect your personal data', and you can publish anonymously (1). It runs on WriteFreely, which is AGPL open source and federates with Mastodon (2). It has powered more than 550,000 blogs (2).
The trade-off
The free plan is closed for now, so it's a paid service; servers are at Rackspace and the Green Web Foundation has no record of them.
Price
Pro from $6 a month billed yearly, or $9 monthly (3).
