Why it’s listed

there are no ads and it says it doesn't sell or share data for advertising1. The app is open source2, accounts are portable3, and Bluesky said in November 2024 it doesn't train generative AI on your posts4.

The trade-off

It has raised $115M in two venture rounds, both led by crypto-focused funds5, and ToS;DR grades it E6. Posts are public, so it suits following people more than private family sharing.
