CalyxOS
calyxos.org ↗CalyxOS is a privacy-focused version of Android made by the Calyx Institute.
Why it’s listed
It suits people who want an Android phone without Google watching, including Fairphone owners, who GrapheneOS doesn't cover.
It's listed because the Calyx Institute is a non-profit funded by members and donations1, and CalyxOS runs on the Fairphone 4, 5 and 6 and several Motorolas as well as Pixels2. Version 8.0.0.0 (Android 17) started rolling out on 1 Oct 20263.
The trade-off
Development paused from August 2025 until July 2026, so its update record needs watching.
