Why it’s listed

Run by Proton AG, 'whose primary shareholder is the non-profit Proton Foundation', with no venture capital investors1,2. Everything in Drive is end-to-end encrypted3, and Proton's apps are open source and audited4.

The trade-off

ToS;DR gives Proton AG a D, mainly for terms it can change without notice and binding arbitration5. Proton also builds AI products (Lumo, Scribe); we didn't check whether any of them touch Drive.

Price

Free 5 GB; Drive Plus 200 GB at $4.99 a month3.
