Why it’s listed
it launched in September 2021 as the continuation of the PrivacyTools project1. It carries no ads, uses no affiliate links and gives donors no special consideration2. Donations go to a dedicated fund at MAGIC Grants, a 501(c)(3) fiscal host3. Every change is reviewed by at least two people and the site is CC BY-SA on GitHub, updated 9 October 20264.
The trade-off
Companies can become paying organisational members, which the site discloses but says buys no endorsement3.
